All about the sunny Vendee region
Our villas are in the Vendee on the magnificent Atlantic Coast, boasting endless golden beaches and an ideal holiday destination for watersports enthusiasts.
Our villas are on the edge of Les Sables d'Olonne, the Vendee's best known and largest resort. With its long promenade, choice of wide sandy beaches and excellent quayside restaurants, it is a popular destination for a family holiday.
Climate:
The Vendee is the sunniest area on the Atlantic Coast thanks to its microclimate. The summers are very pleasant with temperatures normally ranging from 25 to 32°C and an average of 20°C in the spring and autumn.
Beaches:
The wide sandy beaches stretch for many kilometres. For your children's safety, the more popular beaches are supervised in high season.
Countryside: Inland from our Vendee villa, small towns and villages nestle in a patchwork landscape - the Vendee 'bocage' - offering tranquillity yet also easy access to the coast.
A feature of this countryside are the typical Vendee cottages - long and low with traditional pan-tiled roof. The delightful Marais Poitevin is an area of fenland criss-crossed by canals, many navigable. This watery paradise, known locally as the Venise Verte - Green Venice - is protected by regional park status. The best way to explore this wildlife haven is by boat and these can be hired from several local villages.
Culture: The Vendee boasts many abbeys, churches and châteaux.
The Puy du Fou is an outstanding theme park, the second most popular in France, with a splendid evening sound and light show, and performances throughout the day of falconry, jousting, magic and music. Popular with many of our Vendee villa guests.
Children: Children will have a great time staying at a Vendee villa.
In the area there are waterparks, adventure parks, go-karting, mini-golf, an aquarium and lots, lots more.Sport

The Atlantic waves provide endless opportunities with a host of watersports on offer.
Everyone, from the beginner to the expert can enjoy unforgettable days in the water. You can, for example, learn to sail, surf, water ski or jet-ski.It may also be possible to sail with one of the competitors of the famous Vendee Globe race, the singlehanded, non-stop around the world yacht race which made Ellen MacArthur so famous when she sailed into the record books in February 2001 by becoming the youngest person and fastest woman to sail solo around the world.
For golf enthusiasts, there are five courses in the Vendee.
